Many overseas companies have prospered on the London capital markets, particularly those trading in Asia Pacific. In China, the Shanghai-London Stock Connect brings together one of the world’s largest domestic capital markets with the leading international market.
The London markets should not be seen as directly competing against national stock exchanges in China and South East Asia. In most cases, the capital market choice will be self-selecting based on the entrant company’s size, capital requirements, location and geographic expansion plans. Potential market entrants will need to demonstrate high quality, good governance and potential value to new investors.
