Global service provider Hawksford has established a sizeable operation in Luxembourg with the acquisition of YT Group and Equiom’s Luxembourg business.

The acquisitions form part of Hawksford’s growth strategy, supported by STAR Capital, enhancing the Group’s European fund and corporate services proposition by establishing a strong presence in Europe’s leading investment fund jurisdiction, Luxembourg.

Founded in 2005, YT Group consists of Your TACS – a Chartered Accountant member of the Ordre des Experts-Comptables (OEC) providing structuring advice and comprehensive support for the implementation and administration of Luxembourg companies – and YT Investor Services – a Professionnel du Secterur Financier (PSF) regulated by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) providing fund accounting, central administration and governance support. With a client base spanning family offices and high net worth individuals, listed and privately held companies, investment firms and asset managers, as well as institutional investors such as banks, payment and electronic money institutions, YT Group is led by Federico Franzina, Founder and CEO, and Vania Baravini, General Manager.

The acquisition of Equiom’s Luxembourg business follows Hawksford’s acquisition of Equiom’s Netherlands operation earlier this year. Equiom Luxembourg is licensed by the CSSF and provides corporate and fund administration services to a diverse client base. Led by Location Head Lindie Fourie and Head of Client Services Nicolas Schreurs, the team supports a broad range of clients including fund managers and portfolio companies with formation, structuring and ongoing servicing needs.

Combined, these acquisitions will see Hawksford grow its European team by more than 40 fund and corporate services staff in Luxembourg – significantly enhancing its European service capabilities and complementing its growing global network.

Hawksford now has a global presence with more than 650 professionals in key locations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asia, and the Americas, providing tailored solutions to a global client base.

Michel van Leeuwen, Chief Executive at Hawksford, commented: “These are landmark acquisitions for Hawksford, representing another major and exciting step in our global growth strategy. As well as providing a strong footprint in Europe’s largest fund services hub, they also enhance our service proposition for asset managers and corporate clients more widely across Europe, while complementing our global fund and corporate services offering.

“Crucially, these acquisitions are based on sharing a strong cultural fit based on high-quality service provision, a positive work ethic and strong growth trajectories, and I’m looking forward to welcoming our new colleagues to the Hawksford team over the coming weeks.”

Advising on the acquisitions, PwC Luxembourg acted as exclusive M&A advisor to YT Group, while Deloitte and Shoosmiths acted for Equiom. DLA Piper and BDO acted for Hawksford on both deals.
