Global service provider Hawksford has partnered with British Tech Advisors (B.TA) – a Singapore-based supportive network that connects UK tech companies with investors in the Asia-Pacific region – to foster greater collaboration and drive growth opportunities in the UK and Asia tech sector.
The partnership will see Hawksford work with B.TA to aid UK tech companies looking to expand into the Singapore market by offering access to specialised corporate services and support, including company incorporation, accounting, tax, immigration and related compliance services for tech entrepreneurs and start-ups.
B.TA is an independent non-profit organisation that works closely with the British High Commission in Singapore to create a community of investors, founders and experts to support UK tech scale-ups looking to establish themselves in the region.
They also facilitate mentorship arrangements, provide strategic insights and help increase visibility, and regularly host delegations from the UK, which Hawksford will also be supporting through the new partnership. Both B.TA and Hawksford are also members of the Singapore Economic Development Board.
Hawksford is a leading global corporate services provider with a strong track record in enabling businesses to successfully incorporate in Singapore. In recent years, the team has noted a marked increase in enquiries from tech and AI businesses looking to access the Asia Pacific market, which Hawksford’s deep expertise and global reach, combined with its regional market knowledge, has been adept at supporting.
The new partnership announcement follows UK-Southeast Asia Tech Week, which was month (9 – 13 February) saw cutting-edge UK AI and data companies meet with potential partners at events in the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore. Organised by the Department for Business and Trade in Singapore – which works closely with B.TA – the flagship annual event for UK businesses in the science, innovation and technology sectors is now in its fourth year and has a long history of generating effective commercial partnerships.
Commenting on the partnership, Dario Acconci, Head of Middle East and Asia at Hawksford, said: “This is an exciting partnership that will match forward-thinking UK tech companies, which are looking to expand into the region, with our expert global corporate services teams who can provide the support required to succeed with their ambitions. With the ASEAN digital economy predicted to reach $1 trillion by 2030, there has never been a better time for UK tech to expand into the region and Hawksford is delighted to work with the team at B.TA to play a part in supporting such collaborative opportunities.”
Kay Vasey, Chair of British Tech Advisors, added: “There is a clear symbiosis between the creativity and innovation in tech that we are seeing in the UK and the rapid adoption, appetite for investment and advanced tech capabilities of Singapore. Creating a supportive community to foster greater collaborative opportunities therefore makes sense but this partnership will now also provide the practical expert support for tech businesses to flourish in the Asia-Pacific market.”
His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Asia Pacific at the British High Commission in Singapore, Martin Kent, added: “Hawksford is a natural partner for our B.TA network, complementing the insights offered by our network of entrepreneurs with technical, operational and strategic support.”
