Responsibilities

Johannes joined the Hawksford China team (based in Shanghai) in 2021. He currently leads the China business development and sales team. In his role, he is responsible for the development and implementation of Hawksford’s commercial and strategic initiatives across the region. Over the years, he has developed strong expertise in assisting corporate clients – ranging from publicly traded MNCs to family-owned SMEs – on their overseas investment structures and operations in greater China.

Prior to joining Hawksford, Johannes worked in Shanghai as a trusted advisor for several reputable firms in the industry. He gained a broad exposure in assisting foreign clients with their market entry and expansion projects, focusing on fashion, luxury brands and FMCGs. Johannes also has a reputation for providing his clients with effective and practical business-oriented solutions.

Qualifications and memberships

• Master’s degree in law from the University of Verona and LL.M. in U.S. Law from George Mason University
• Attorney at law, Washington State Bar Association (USA)

• Led the successful market entry and growth acceleration for several publicly traded European fashion and luxury brands in Greater China
• Italian government scholarship for a semester-long research project in public comparative law at the University of Seoul in Seoul, South Korea
