The Senior Engineer is responsible for the design, stability, security, and continuous improvement of Hawksford’s global infrastructure platforms. Working closely with the Associate Director, this role provides senior-level technical leadership, ensuring infrastructure services are resilient, secure, and aligned to business needs. The role contributes hands-on expertise across infrastructure operations and projects, supports global offices, and acts as a technical escalation point for complex issues. The Senior Engineer plays a key role in driving best practice, improving reliability, and mentoring junior engineers. The role will require travel to Hawksford’s global offices to support infrastructure integration projects, deployments, and major initiatives where hands-on technical presence is required.

Work involves analysing complex technical requirements, identifying risks and opportunities, designing effective solutions, and applying judgement where solutions are not immediately obvious. Individuals are accountable for the quality, reliability, and security of infrastructure services and are expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy within established policies and standards.
The role requires effective planning and coordination of work across global teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure infrastructure services are delivered consistently and professionally.
Principal Accountabilities: -
Infrastructure & Operations
- Act as a senior technical authority for global infrastructure platforms, with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Microsoft 365, identity, endpoint, and security services.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience of the global infrastructure estate.
- Design, implement, and support Azure-based infrastructure, including networking, identity, compute, and security controls.
- Maintain and improve infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and operational readiness.
- Ensure business requirements for operations, backup, and disaster recovery are met and regularly validated.
Incident & Problem Management
- Act as an escalation point for major incidents and complex technical problems, leading root cause analysis and remediation.
- Work with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues efficiently and minimise business impact.
- Identify recurring issues and drive long-term engineering solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
Projects, Integrations & Change
- Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects, including office integrations, cloud migrations, security enhancements, and global rollouts.
- Travel to regional and international offices as required to support integration projects, deployments, and critical infrastructure work.
- Ensure infrastructure changes follow approved change, security, and governance processes.
- Review and contribute to technical designs, proposals, and external supplier solutions.
Security, Compliance & Risk
- Ensure infrastructure platforms meet security standards, compliance requirements, and internal policies.
- Maintain Microsoft security capabilities, including Microsoft Defender, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), identity protection, and endpoint security.
- Support vulnerability remediation, patching strategies, and continuous security improvement across global systems.
- Ensure physical security controls for Asia offices and infrastructure areas are appropriate and maintained.
Documentation & Knowledge
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation for infrastructure systems, processes, and procedures.
- Promote knowledge sharing and operational consistency across global teams.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies, including:
- Azure (core services, networking, identity, security)
- Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Intune)
- Microsoft Defender (endpoint, identity, cloud)
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and information protection
- Exposure to or implementation of Microsoft Copilot capabilities
- Solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure across network, server, cloud, and end-user computing environments.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Experience supporting infrastructure in global or multi-site environments.
