Summary
This position plays a key role in supporting board and governance activities across a diverse client base, including funds, private clients, corporate entities, trusts, and foundations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating board meetings end-to-end, producing high-quality minutes, and acting as a trusted operational contact for clients. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality corporate secretarial and board governance support to a portfolio of international clients, ensuring the smooth running of board processes, accurate documentation, and full compliance with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.

This is a remote role based in Mauritius, with a requirement to overlap partially with Cayman Islands business hours.

 

Key Responsibilities: -

  • Reporting to the Board Support Manager (Cayman Islands), the successful applicant will:

  • Provide end-to-end board support for a portfolio of client entities, including:

  • Preparing and distributing board packs and agendas

  • Attending meetings and producing accurate, high-quality minutes (with a focus on fund clients)

  • Tracking and following up on action items through to completion

  • Supporting the Chair and Board during meetings

  • Act as a key operational point of contact for clients on all board support and corporate secretarial matters

  • Ensure all documentation and processes comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and internal governance standards

  • Maintain and update statutory records and client files, ensuring accuracy and completeness

  • Assist with periodic client file reviews and governance health checks

  • Support the Board Support Manager and wider team with ad hoc projects and process improvements.

The type of person we are looking for:

  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in board support / corporate secretarial/ governance roles

  • Proven experience in minute-taking for board or committee meetings (ideally within funds or financial services)

  • A legal or corporate secretarial qualification, such as Chartered Corporate Secretary with the Chartered Governance Institute UK or equivalent, is a core requirement for this role.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (business-level English required)

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines

  • Confident in client-facing interactions across email, phone, and virtual platforms (e.g. Microsoft Teams, Zoom)

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong team collaboration

  • Willingness and ability to work with partial overlap into Cayman Islands business hours (e.g. late afternoon/evening Mauritius time)
