As part of our ambitious growth plans and following MFSC approval, Hawksford will be building a right-shoring capability in Mauritius in support of our global operations. There will be a range of functional and operational roles sourced in this high growth team, one of which will be a Client Accountant. This role gives a fantastic opportunity for someone to further develop their career in relation accounting and financial reporting while being part of our growing business.

Job Purpose:
Responsibility for performing client accounting tasks for Hawksford Mauritius Corporate clients.
Tasks will primarily involve Bookkeeping, financial statement preparation and quarterly reporting for Companies, Foundations and Trusts across a number of industry sectors including investment holdings, trading, real estate, wealth management, CIS Funds and capital markets.
Principal Accountabilities:
The main focus of the role will involve completing client accounting tasks (to include book keeping, financial statement preparation and ad hoc reporting) for a variety of Hawksford Corporate and Private client relationships, utilising information provided by the accounting and administration teams. All accounting work is expected to be completed accurately and in line with the underlying transactions utilising the relevant policies and procedures.
The accounting tasks will include:-

Preparing trial balances, management accounts from information available and documentation received from clients;

Prepare financial statements with relevant notes as per IFRS, ensuring compliance with corporate and statutory requirements;

Prepare accounting files for audit and manage the audit process;

Preparing tax computation and returns (Annual and APS);

Prepare VAT schedules and reports as required for VAT submissions;

Load payments on banking profile and prepare all relevant paperworks for payment sign off;

Prepare monthly payroll computation and prepare monthly statutory returns on MNS (CSG, PAYE, TDS & PRGF)

Complete quarter/ annual FSC survey as and when required
At a practical level, the role will be also supporting the following core areas:

Achieve financial and/or utilisation targets as determined by management

Such other duties as the management may at times reasonably required
Future opportunities:
Whilst not an immediate, we expect that the role could grow and evolve over time to allow candidates to also get exposure to broader client accounting and financial reporting.
Required Skills & Experience

Professional qualification or prior bookkeeping / financial reporting experience is preferred.

Good working knowledge of accounting software, preferably Jobstream / Viewpoint, and Excel.

Highly proficient in English (listening, speaking, and writing).

Ability to plan and prioritise work to meet tight deadlines.

Strong organisational and analytical skills.

High integrity and trustworthiness (to maintain client confidentiality)

ACCA partly qualified or any other equivalent qualifications.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Global Business Sector

Working knowledge of accounting software will be a plus
