Job Purpose:

To be responsible for a portfolio of complex client companies from a legal, compliance and corporate secretarial point of view in coordination with the team. In addition, you will provide legal support to the account manager(s), client director(s) and managing director(s). and is responsible for a team of 1-3 (junior) legal officers.

 

Summary:

Roles at this level provide high-quality legal advice and support across multiple business functions, grounded in a deep understanding of corporate law, compliance, and regulatory frameworks. You have > 5 years of experience in a similar role at a corporate services provider, law firm, notary or multinational corporation. The Senior Legal Officer plans and manages progress within establishes procedures and company policies while ensuring adherence to applicable legislation and governance standards. And contributes ideas to improve procedures and related processes. You will identify and assess legal risks, conduct analyses to resolve complex issues, and make recommendations that balance business objectives with legal compliance. This position requires independent planning and organization of your own work. The role involves regular liaison and coordination with various departments, addressing shifting priorities and adapting to evolving business. And is responsible for a team of 1-3 (junior) legal officers.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • First point of contact in relation to the legal and compliance matters of the client company.
  • Taking care of preparation and review of Client Acceptance Files.
  • Opening of bank accounts and cash management.
  • Preparation of agreements and corporate documents such as powers of attorney, resolutions and minutes.
  • Assisting in preparing and attending meetings with clients and advisors.
  • Consulting with banks, lawyers, accountants, tax consultants and (semi) governmental institutions.
  • Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Keeping the client and legal files up to date.
  • Joining client relationship meetings or business development events.

 

Principal Requirements:

  • University (master) degree in corporate, notarial or tax law from a Dutch University.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
  • >5 years of relevant working experience (see above).
  • Proven knowledge of Dutch AML laws (Wtt & Wwft).
  • Currently living within max. 60-90 minutes from Amsterdam Zuid (by public transport).
