Summary:

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving Hawksford’s growth by developing new client relationships, building strategic partnerships, and expanding market presence, with a primary focus on LATAM.

The role requires a strong understanding of the Commercial/Corporate and Institutional Investment Corporate sectors and the ability to align opportunities with Hawksford’s risk appetite and service capabilities. A proven network of intermediaries (law firms, PE funds, financial institutions) is essential for generating business in Corporate and Accounting Services across the LATAM region.

You will nurture and grow key relationships, collaborating with Business Development and client-facing teams to maximize opportunities.

 

Principal accountabilities:

  • Build and maintain a strong network of contacts to identify and qualify new business opportunities. Lead negotiations on commercial terms and secure new business, working closely with internal teams as needed. The initial focus will be on LATAM-based opportunities, with scope to expand and support the wider group over time.
  • Represent Hawksford at conferences and industry events, actively engaging with key prospective and existing contacts. Assist in planning and organizing initiatives to promote the company’s services, and deliver presentations on relevant topics when required, primarily focusing on the LATAM market.
  • Collaborate with the Risk Committee, as required, to review and provide insights on new business opportunities. Assess potential risks and ensure that pricing and rewards accurately reflect the associated risk levels.
  • Identify, champion, and coordinate new service line opportunities, working closely with senior leadership to define target audiences and develop service offerings that align with market needs in the LATAM region.
  • Develop and nurture strong referral relationships with law firms, tax advisors, and chambers of commerce to generate new business leads and opportunities.
  • Leverage Hawksford’s existing group-wide relationships to identify and develop new business opportunities within the LATAM market.
  • Implement a focused targeting strategy to strengthen key relationships and enhance business development efforts.
  • Establish and manage a referral program to create mutually beneficial partnerships and drive reciprocal opportunities.
  • Maintain and update Hawksford’s CRM system with relevant details of intermediaries, prospects, and clients to ensure an accurate and up-to-date business pipeline.
  • Facilitate and process digital enquiries related to the LATAM region, ensuring timely follow‑up and appropriate internal coordination.
  • Assist with onboarding new clients into Hawksford’s compliance framework, working closely with internal compliance team.

The type of person we are looking for:

  • Significant experience in a relevant field (typically 6+ years).
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and Portuguese is essential, both verbally and in writing. Spanish is highly advantageous.
  • Proven sales track record in Corporate Service or a professional services firm.
  • Well-established network of intermediaries, including law firms, tax advisors, and financial institutions in the LATAM region.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate complex, multi-jurisdictional proposals involving multiple business lines.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Consultative sales approach, with the ability to understand client needs and provide tailored business solutions.
  • Relevant professional qualifications or certifications would be advantageous.
