To oversee the organisation’s full finance function by managing budgeting, accounting, tax compliance, regulatory reporting, payroll, audits, and governance processes while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls.

Principal Accountabilities
- Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans.
- Record all transactions in the general ledger entries accurately.
- Maintain accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and FSC requirements.
- Consolidate accounts if the company has multiple subsidiaries or structures.
- Compute corporate tax liabilities and file returns with the Mauritius Revenue Authority.
- Handle VAT returns and ensure compliance with local tax laws.
- Ensure compliance with FSC regulations for GBC/ AC entities.
- Liaise with external auditors, prepare audit schedules, and ensure smooth audit processes.
- Monthly Payroll processing, prepare payslips and ensure timely salary disbursement. Apply statutory deductions (e.g., NPF, NSF, PAYE), and remit to MRA.
- Scheduling board meetings, preparing comprehensive board packs, presenting financial information to directors, and ensuring that board-approved financial decisions are accurately recorded and implemented.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior staff ensuring strong internal controls and efficient processes.
Skills & Qualifications
- ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification.
- Strong knowledge of Mauritius tax laws, Companies Act and payroll regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Prophix or Viewpoint).
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.
- Candidates with 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in corporate finance, payroll management, and statutory compliance.
