We are looking for an Associate Director, Funds Compliance to join our GRC team in Jersey. As part of our ambitious growth plans, we are in the process of acquiring several regulated businesses across the world, including a number of fund services businesses in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Given this growth, an exciting opportunity has been created for a Jersey resident to become the in-house subject matter expert within the Governance, Risk and Compliance team for fund entities and Hawksford fund service providers.

Five years’ Jersey residency required for this role, as required by Control of Housing and Work (Jersey) Law 2012.

 

Principal accountabilities:

In this role, you will manage a team of fund compliance specialists in several locations across the group and act as key person to the fund administration business/funds in Jersey.

  • For International Funds and Fund Services (50%) 
    • Reporting line for and management of a team of fund specialists
    • Provide leadership and strategic decisions for aligning the group GRC model to relevant offices across Europe, Asia and Americas

  • For Jersey Funds and Fund Services (50%)
    • Supporting the Fund boards and the administration team in Jersey from a compliance perspective
    • Be able to fulfil the duties of a CO/MLCO to the fund business in Jersey including board attendance
    • Liaison with specialist compliance monitoring and periodic review teams and managing reporting thereof


The type of person we are looking for:

  • Roles at this level are held by professional specialists with a high-level of expertise, exercising a substantial degree of independent professional responsibility and discretion, working within broad parameters and policy guidance 
  • Have detailed knowledge and experience of relevant laws and regulations relating to Funds / Fund Administrators in Jersey
  • Ability to take initiative, be adaptive and flexible in problem solving and deliver sustainable change outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
  • Excellent team management skills, including co-ordination across multiple jurisdictions 
  • Strategic influencer and leader
