Meet Andre

Hawksford’s vibrant and forward-thinking career development is expertly structured to develop the skills you need to progress your career and achieve your ambition.

What school did you go to?

Le Rocquier and then Highlands College

What made you choose Hawksford?

The grading and development system. The ability to progress further in your career by working hard and taking different courses and professional training as well as the great first two interviews I had where everyone was so nice, helpful and welcoming.

We believe in having fun at Hawksford with a variety of after-work activities - what has been your favourite?

I definitely enjoy our regular team socials such as the team meals! It's great to get to know everyone better and socialise in a setting outside of work..

What does your typical day consist of?

My day consists of supporting colleagues with any IT requirements. This includes being on the helpdesk and assisting the wider business with any IT queries they may have. It also includes working on implementing new features or systems for colleagues and making sure all is working correctly.

Hawksford offers opportunities to learn and dedicated support. What professional training will you be doing or have you done whilst at Hawksford?

As I have recently joined I am yet to start my professional qualification but I have been working with my manager on a training program which will include professional courses and certifications from companies such as Microsoft to further my career in IT. I'm really looking forward to starting with my professional training in addition to all of the 'on-the-job' experience I am gaining in my role.

What does ‘looking forward’ mean to you and what are your next career steps?

To me looking forward is the definition of not being comfortable where you are and always striving to improve and be better. To also not be afraid to adapt and evolve to meet the needs of the clients, employees and business.

What advice can you give to others looking for employment?

Just go for it! Do not be afraid to learn, to accept that everyone is always improving and that you have to start somewhere. Make sure you work hard and try your very best!

Taking you and your career beyond tomorrow
