Meet Emma
Hawksford’s vibrant and forward-thinking career development is expertly structured to develop the skills you need to progress your career and achieve your ambition.
What school did you go to?
I did my GCSEs and A-levels at Hautlieu and then furthered my studies at Highlands College.
What made you choose Hawksford?
After having worked in childcare for two years, I wanted to challenge myself more so I began looking for career opportunities in the finance industry. After looking on hawksford.com and then meeting with the HR team, I knew Hawksford was the place for me. Everybody is so friendly and welcoming - I settled in very quickly.
We believe in having fun at Hawksford with a variety of after-work activities - what has been your favourite?
We recently had a ping pong tournament at JB’s. It was an amazing evening and events like these are great for getting to know people - especially for me as a new starter. The atmosphere was wonderful and everyone was laughing and having fun.
What does your typical day consist of?
I currently assist my team with anything they need help with. I started very recently so I’m still learning the ropes. I am getting lots of opportunity to work with various team members and on a range of projects. Daily tasks at the moment include writing and sending minutes and other administration tasks.
Hawksford offers opportunities to learn and dedicated support. What professional training will you be doing or have you done whilst at Hawksford?
I will be studying towards the Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners (STEP) qualification so that I can progress my career. As well as technical studies, I’ve been on
a course for interpersonal skills and completed some other practical and skills courses as part of the trainee programme.
What does ‘looking forward’ mean to you and what are your next career steps?
Looking forward, to me, means progressing with my career at Hawksford. I hope to take on my own clients in the next couple of years and I wish to start studying towards a Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners qualification in the near future.
What advice can you give to others looking for employment?
Try to chat with the HR team of the company you are interested in – they are usually more than happy to talk through career options so that you can make the right move, like I did.

Taking you and your career beyond tomorrow
