This client is a privately owned, UK based FINTECH business focused on developing card payment systems. Complex and highly technical, the client conducts ongoing software development and has registered its trademark with the Intellectual Property Office. The company is registered in the UK, but also has an international presence as it will be operating its servers from different countries.
Client's challenge
A unique business, the client had bespoke needs as well as requiring accounting, bookkeeping, taxation and audit services. They also required significant future proofing as they are currently seeking FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) registration and undergoing testing to receive licensing from the major card payment providers. This means that they need systems in place which could manage a large volume of complex transactions.
The Outcome
We were able to not only meet but exceed the interests of the business by putting in order accounting documentation, organising a user-friendly bookkeeping system which dealt with their complex needs, as well as resolving outstanding issues with UK tax authorities. The client also came to us after having its first year of accounts and audit done by another firm of accountants. This meant we planned for their future whilst also ensuring all work done to date met regulatory and our exacting standards. Due to the future FCA registration it was important that further audit services were also provided. Working with an audit service provider, we were able to manage this relationship, ensuring the accounts were audited in a short time.
