Responsibilities

Ian is the Managing Director of Singapore. He is responsible for managing a team that covers the full range of Corporate services offered by Hawksford.

Prior to Hawksford, Ian was the Regional Head of Business Development and Relationship Management for TMF Group, where he built the group’s function from small outfit to a team covering 17 countries across the APAC region.

Notable achievements

• Ian’s proudest achievement is that most of the people he has hired during his career in APAC have gone on to run offices, countries, areas, regions and whole companies… Many have reached out to thank him for giving them the opportunity to shine when they had often been struggling in the early stages of their careers
• Built a regulated asset manager from US$100 million AUM to US$2 billion under management
• Ian was the CEO, Responsible Officer and Lead sales for the Asset Manager
• Led a deal which increased the business’ AUM by over US$1 billion
• Built broking businesses in Japan, Hong Kong and China from green field to top performing offices
• Highly experienced business leader in Asia, previously managing 17 countries
• Ian has spent three years living in Japan, 19 years in Hong Kong, and seven years in Singapore – he holds Permanent Resident status in both Hong Kong and Singapore
• Ian is also a retired Judo instructor, boxer, sky diver and scuba diver – as well as being a firefighter (putting out real fires and in the business world!) and an avid trail runner
